    Hello Folk,

Well, it's been a while. I took a six month break from booking shows after I got married in the fall, which I can say has been lots of fun. I've still be writing songs and running the open mike, but it's been a nice to spend some more time with my new bride. But, as the months have been going by I've been getting the itch to get back on the scene. The itch never leaves a musician. April will be the month I dive back into it and it'll all kick off with me opening for Richie Havens! What a great way to get things rolling again.

See you on the road in April,

What happens to the song-writer when he is married?
    Hello Folk,

I know it's been a long time. Don't you know I've been busy? Extremely busy! Just two weeks ago I married the most beautiful gal in the world. You might think that she's lucky, but I assure you, I'm the lucky one. We just got back from two wonderful weeks in Alaska too. We hiked mountains, saw wild wolves, flew around Mt. Denali, and ate whale up in Barrow. It was honeymoon perfection.
So, what happens to the song-writer when he is married? That's a simple answer, he continues writing and performing songs. This friday night, October 19th, I'll be at the Beacon Coffeehouse at the First Baptist Church in Newton MA with my good friend Joe Fredette. This is the first important show I'll be playing since the summer and it'd be great to have some folks come out and support my music. I'll also be playing whole bunch of new songs I'm extremely proud of. Hello Folk,

Well well well, it's been a long time since I've written one of these news letters. I've been busy. Extremely busy. In February, I took a trip back to Jerusalem. It had been six years since my previous voyage and it was a blast. I even almost got caught in a Palestinian rock throwing episode in Bethlehem and saw my first live tear gas. It smells just like horse radish. I like horse radish. It goes really nice with sushi, but it's not fun stuff in your eyes.
The most exciting news is that I got my butt engaged to the most wonderful and beautiful woman in the world. It is mighty hard to book shows when all you want to do is go on long walks and drink tea. Luckily, she's a lover of all things music and I've got myself a full month of May. I promise to keep on trucking with all things folk music, even though I'm engaged. She's making me do it!

    Hello Folk,

I first wanted to thank everyone for a wonderful 2006. Last year, I released my first major cd, opened for John Hiatt, took over as open mike host at Amazing Things, and played over 50 gigs. Hopefully 2007 will be as kind musically as 2006 was. I don't have a ton of shows lined up at the moment because I'll be traveling in Israel most of the month of February. I haven't been back in five years and I can't wait. Hopefully, I'll be inspired to write some more songs. Oh Jerusalem, Oh Jerusalem indeed. My first stay there produced so many great songs.

Happy New Year, and I look forward to seeing you out on the road.

    Hello Folk,

It's been a wonderful and long summer. Just wrote this new song about how dark and lonesome late summer nights can be. (I'm such a winter boy) There's been some amazing things happening lately. In the first week of August, I sang the National Anthem at the Paw Sox game in front of 10,000 and then two days later played on the main stage of Soul Fest with the band Who Stands? in front of another few thousand. Quite a week. I even made it back for the open mike at Amazing Things on the same night! Such a wonderful life music gives. Play in front of thousands on a huge stage and twenty for an open mike in the same day.
In some good news, you can finally buy my cd on-line at www.cdfreedom.com/artist/danclouteir. I also might have the chance to be opening for a really really big name in October. I'm not going to jinx myself with naming names, but it'll be big.

    See you on the road,

    Hello Folk,

I first wanted to thank everyone who came out for the CD release show back in March. It was a tremendous success and it was 5 tickets away from being a sell out! (85 people!) It warmed my heart to have so many friends, fans, and family there to support me. So, thank you. The cd has been selling well and I look forward to having it soon available over the internet. Also, over the next few months I'll be slowly trying to get the some songs off Bottles and Seeds on the radio. If any of you have any ideas as to which songs I should promote I'd appreciate the help.
I'll also be promoting the 2nd annual Respite Center Coffeehouse on June 9th. The last one was my favorite show of all time and anyone who was there will tell you it was a special night. It looks like it'll be a summer full of music!

    Winter CD!
    Hello Folk,

It was a great fall of shows and a it will be a winter for a new CD. The highlight of the fall was being able to open for one of my most important folk musical influences, Ellis Paul, on October 1st at the Tupelo Music Hall. I felt great about my performance and even had Christopher Williams, another famous Boston folkie, accompany me on Blind Willie Johnson's "Soul of a Man." It was the chance of a life time and I was also thrilled to have some many fans and friends come out and support me. Thanks again everyone! There will be some photos soon of the event on the website!
In other news, "Bottles and Seeds" my new cd is finished being recorded and now only needs to be mixed, mastered, and pressed. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally have a real cd to sell to my fans. It will have 11 songs and should be done before the first of the year. Hello Folk,

It's been quite an amazing few months. First I had the pleasure to open for the legendary Vance Gilbert. Then I had the privilege of being the first feature ever at the Tupelo Music Hall open mic. That night was amazing. There's an incredible amount of great players in New Hampshire, and I'm looking forward to seeing the community that'll grow there. Last, I was asked to open for Les Sampou at the Amazing Center for Arts, which is another great great honor.
But, the event that I'm most looking forward to is the Respite Center Coffeehouse, which I'm putting on with my friends Steve Howard and Laura Bullock. I've been practicing with a bunch of the Adults from the center, and we've got some great moments planned. I'm also getting ready to record an official album in the next few months, so get ready, get ready.

    Hello Folk,

Well, the Ellis Paul show had a big change at the last minute. Ellis had a member of the family that became sick at the last minute and had to cancel his performance again! I was extremely bummed out when I first heard that, as I'm a huge Ellis fan, and it's never good when someone is sick. At first I was expecting it to be canceled again, but Vance Gilber stepped in and played in place of Ellis. I've been a fan of Vance for years now and if there was anyone who could fill the shoes of Ellis it was Vance. And man did he play a hell of a show that night! I also feel like I played one of the best shows I've ever done and the night went extremely well. Tupelo Hall asked me to come back and be the feature of there first open mic, which is a big honor.
(A big thanks to all my good friends who came out to shows over the past few weeks. It really means a lot to have your support!)
In other news, I'm just beginning the process to look into recording a new album. Hopefully I'll begin to work on that soon and get it to all of you.

    Hello Folk,

Well, I've been an Ellis Paul fan for about eight years. Actually, it was an Ellis Paul show back in 1996 that got me into folk music. I was offered the chance to open up for him and I could not be happier. How often does it happen that a musician gets to open for one of his major influences? I guess I'm just blessed. I hope a bunch of people can come out and support me and see another great artist perform.

In other news, I'm going to be singing the National Anthem again with my good bud Mike Mullins from the Respite Center at the annual Michael's Run in Hopkinton. We've been working on it for months in my music class at the center and have already performed it at a Pawtucket RedSox game. Hopefully, we'll be able to do it at a bunch more events! It's a thrill to see Mike blossom with his singing. He's so talented. Check out www.hopkintonrespite.com for some more info!

    Hello Folk,

I've had a great month of music and there should be some big big big news in the near future. The show with Jason Harrod went off really well. Thanks to everyone who came out for a great night of music. Even though I was sick, I felt I played on of my better sets every. Jason really liked all my banjo songs, so for all of you who don't like the banjo shame on you.
I also have the pleasure to continue singing the national anthem with my good bud Mike Mullins from the Respite Center. Mike has Down Syndrome, and it took us months in the music class I run at the center to get it down, but he has innate musical talent and it is wonderful to see him sing in front of all those people. We will be performing it at the annual Michael's Run in Hopkinton to benefit the Center, and also at a local football game. Hopefully, we will get a chance to do it at the Fleet Center this year too!

    Blessings,

    -Dan
